TEND TO YOUR GARDEN
They say if you want to live a longer life, plant a garden.
But to me, you already have one of those…
The way I see it is: your life already is a garden, and it needs to be properly tended to if you want it to thrive and bloom year round.
Imagine you have a big piece of property with massive potential and a wide variety of plants.
You have a clear vision of what it could be, but there’s work to do.
Perhaps you have a gorgeous lawn, but the fruit trees haven’t been pruned in 5 years and there are a bunch of dead azaleas in the corner...
The vision that you have for your garden would naturally inspire you to tend to it.
Your life operates the exact same way. All the aspects of your life contribute to the entire garden - and in the same way, a gardener can’t tend to every single plant at the same time, neither can you.
You tend to one area until it satisfies you and move onto the next satisfying project. In the same way if there was an eye sore in your garden, you would tend to it.
And in terms of real life application, no, I’m not just talking about mindset (although your mind is extremely important to tend to). Sometimes you need to revitalize your hobbies, or nurture your relationships, or reconnect with your purpose, or consider pleasure and enrichment, or clean up how you take care of your physical body…
The more you take pleasure in tending to the vision of your life, the more satisfied you will be.
Much of my work over the years has fallen into what I would describe as energetic diagnostics. As this is the thing people have the hardest time identifying for themselves.
If the diagnostics are wrong, the remedies will be too.
To stick with our analogy here, usually people will bring me a huge garden and I have to let them know they need to briefly pause planting flowers because the fruit trees have a fungal infection.
Here’s a situation that just happened recently…
I was on the phone with a friend of mine who is very consistent when it comes to doing somatic work, but her money situation was pinched off.
I told her she was in one of those rare positions where she did NOT need to do more somatic work and needed to crank up the mindset for this.
Doing loads of somatic work without giving any mental direction is kind of like a ship floating on the ocean, but not going anywhere.
Anyway, she did what I said, literally for a day or two, and I got these texts from her yesterday:
She actually ended up making closer to $2,000 for the day and no, she does not run a business or sell anything online for those wondering.
Now let me show you the opposite. I had another friend who was really dialed in on mindset work, does her daily prayers and affirmations, but the somatic side was lacking.
I was pushing her to do somatic work for a looooooong time, and then this happened:
I give money examples here because it’s easy to see results in the form of numbers, but my point remains the same…
Different things need tending to at different times, in the same way you wouldn’t plant seeds during harvest season, or try to harvest peaches in the dead of winter.
If you’re trapping yourself in your home doing mindset work all day, you probably need some fun!
If you’re numbing out all the time, you likely need some purpose, direction, and vision.
If you’re binging educational material, you probably need to pause, integrate, and apply.
Remember, your life, like a garden, never stops requiring tending… because your desires never stop and your consciousness never stops creating.
And when you have a vision, tending isn’t a chore, but a fulfilling form of higher expression.
Happy tending!
