CLEAN YOUR ROOM

Every moment of every day is a contribution of varying quality.

Low quality contributions create energetic stagnation. And when you repeatedly make low quality contributions… just imagine a puddle of stale, stagnant water full of mosquitos (essentially, that’s what’s going on energetically).

A quick sidebar here… routines that have become dull, dormant, and feel underwhelming often fall into the low quality contribution category. Even if on paper it looks like a sexy, productive routine - if you’re simply “going through the motions,” it probably isn’t having the impact you think it will.

Anyway! When you feel uninspired, confused, sluggish, pessimistic, numbed out, and these things are occurring in the absence of a traumatic or extremely stressful event, you can be sure there’s energetic stagnation.

On the other hand, high quality contributions feel like a breath of fresh air. They generate energetic circulation. And what would you rather swim in, a mosquito and parasite filled pond, or a fresh, flowing river?

Now, keep in mind, there isn’t some secret list of high quality contributions and low quality contributions - these are going to be different for everyone in every moment. Working out might be a super high quality contribution in one instance, but in another context, it could be a low quality contribution… like if you were extremely sleep deprived or were 1 day post-op from a major surgery.

It’s not so much about what the contribution is, it’s more about what is that specific thing contributing right now, in this context?

You can feel the difference! I know you do!

It might take a little practice to get really good at discerning the quality, but you can already tell based on past experiences. You’ve had those seasons of life when you felt unstoppable and things were flowing magically compared to the seasons where you felt like an absolute stick in the mud and it seemed like the magic had been robbed from your world.

You’ve procrastinated enough times to know what that looming tension feels like. You’ve skipped the normal self care things and seen the effects. You’ve neglected your craft and watched your skills suffer.

I know you know what I’m talking about.

There are a million reasons why we get stuck in the momentum of making low-quality contributions, and frankly, none of them matter. What does matter, is stacking more high quality contributions more frequently.

If you made it a habit to really ask yourself, “is this (whatever you’re doing right now, or contemplating doing next) a high quality contribution, or a low quality contribution? Will this generate more circulation, or make it stagnate?” And then consistently chose the higher quality contributions over and over and over… momentum would pick up fast!

You would feel better.
You would get more done (and it would feel natural).
You would more consistently fulfill your potential.
You would receive so much inspiration.
Your mind would be clearer.
Your choices would naturally be better.
Your mood would improve.

Now we’re cookin’!

But here’s the thing… you’ve got to strip the morality out of this whole thing. It’s not about making “good” choices or “bad” choices, it’s about feeling better or worse, personally. It’s not about your make-believe laundry list of things that you “should” do, it’s about stacking more beneficial contributions because it feels so good!

Clean your room, not because you “should,” but because it’s a high quality contribution and you will most definitely feel refreshed!

Attend the party, not because you’re obligated, but because nurturing relationships is the #1 determining factor in your quality of life!

Tackle that to-do list item, not because you’re such a lazy procrastinator if you don’t, but because it will free you from the perpetual feeling of unfinished-ness. Plus it’s probably gonna take 5 minutes and you’ll feel 100 pounds lighter!

Drop some money on a nice dinner, not because “the universe only responds to big spenders” *bombastic side eye*, but because delighting yourself in the experience creates a beautiful memory and frankly, delight makes life worth living! Savor every freaking second.

Address your mindset, not because it’s yet another chore but because it’s the fucking foundation of your reality and fulfillment with life! And let’s not forget mental wellbeing is outwardly expressed and impacts all your other decisions.

The bottom line is this… tending to your life feels good.

Neglecting your life feels bad.

Every high quality contribution is you, tending to your life!

Don’t believe the thoughts that are telling you “it doesn’t matter,” or “why bother,” or “it’s just this one little thing” or whatever other garbage.

For the love of God… DO NOT TAKE THE BAIT!

Remember, you’re contributing right now… right now… right now

Keep making the life-giving contributions, trust me on that!
