WHAT I’M LOVING (AUGUST 2025)
It’s time for another favorites blog! You guys really enjoyed the one that I posted for June, so here’s another.
Enjoy!
KEN HONDA
I am currently in love with Ken Honda and I can’t shut up about him!
Typically, I don’t gravitate toward eastern philosophy, but a few months back, there was a series of events that led me to begin studying eastern philosophical approaches to money. In my view, eastern philosophies are an antidote to many of the ways western cultures are out of balance.
But as usual, I find myself in the middle of the road philosophically.
Both is best! Having a big vision and creating a big demand for money to flow and developing your capacity for appreciation and pleasure with what you have right now.
Without developing your capacity for appreciation and pleasure, you’ll find yourself trapped in a materialistic hell of never-enough-itis. No matter how much you make, achieve, or gain, you’ll be left with an empty feeling that will bring perpetual disappointment and insatiable greed.
On the other side, if you constantly depriving yourself, shrinking your desires, or aiming lower, then you’re cutting yourself off from the magic within! Failure to evolve feels… depressing. Like something is missing and life isn’t as rich and exciting as it could be.
But if you master both, riding the edge of your evolution and basking in deep pleasure and appreciation - there’s just nothing better than that!
Anyway, let’s get back to Ken Honda… he floated into my orbit one day and I decided to listen to one of his interviews on YouTube.
He has such a whimsical perception of money. I can’t tell you how much of the imagery he shares has been such a delight to play with.
Ken Honda is financial peace and wellbeing personified! If you watch any of the interviews you’ll see what I’m talking about, he has such a warm, reassuring, soothing essence. He even wrote “Happy Money” (honestly, I’m considering reading that for the group chat soon, but I haven’t decided yet.)
So if you’re in the mood, listen to some of his interviews! Chances are, you’ll hear something that gives you a fresh perspective.
FOCUS FRIEND!
So apparently Hank Green made a focus app that’s completely genius and I’ve been using it every day. It even topped the charts in the App Store the other day, which is absolutely wild.
So here’s the deal, you have this bean that likes to knit socks and scarves, but he needs help focusing in order to knit. When you set the timer to focus, he starts knitting, but if you interrupt him, he’ll drop the stitches and looks so sad and disappointed. The whole thing really plays into your emotions so you’re motivated to keep focusing and not look at any apps (and yes, you can choose which apps you still want access to while you’re focusing).
The more focus time you put in, the more socks he knits and you can trade in those socks for furniture and decorations for your room.
It’s free, THERE ARE NO ADS, it’s useful, and it’s super adorable!!!
My bean’s name is Fredrick and this is what his room looks like now:
As you can see, he’s fooling around and eating potato chips right now because I’m not focusing.
It’s so cute, I had to share it with you!
THESE TEXTS
Recently, one of my friends bought Slut Magic and started diving into the material.
AND THEN, the other morning, she sent me these texts and they were seriously so flattering:
Of course I got all warm and fuzzy as soon as I read these. There’s something about Slut Magic praise/testimonials in particular that thrill me unlike any other. I think it’s probably because this is such a sticky and challenging topic, I get extra jazzed when people have breakthroughs around it.
I’m sure many of you know that a little while ago I ended up closing a bunch of my programs… except Slut Magic, because let’s be honest, nobody teaches body modification the way I do.
Also, we’re approaching Slut Magic’s 3rd birthday! I just needed to take a moment and give this masterpiece some love.
MY TEA PRACTICE
Oh man… tomorrow marks the 4 year anniversary of my ceremonial tea practice! If you’re unfamiliar, tea ceremonies are essentially a moving meditation. I think some people would categorize it as a “plant medicine ceremony,” but calling it that makes me feel like a pretentious douche bag so I just call it a moving meditation.
After a long break, several months ago, I got the nudge to pick up this up again and it’s been so nice to weave back into my day. I have a huge stash of unfinished bags of tea and I’ve been working my way through them - most of the bags have enough tea for a few ceremonies, and it feels like I’ve been going on a whole bunch of first dates with different teas!
It’s been such a sweet part of my day.
And it’s most definitely one of my favorite things right now.
KOPARI - MARINE CLEAN GEL CLEANSER
(and no, this isn’t sponsored okay, I just really love this stuff!)
I don’t typically talk about skin care or beauty products, but some of you may remember all the drama around my former favorite face wash…
I used to be a die hard fan of the Youth To The People green tea superfood cleanser. It comes in this nice, minimal glass bottle and is this pleasant light green color… and when I first started using it, it had the most amazing scent. There were no artificial fragrances or anything, just the ingredients they used smelled absolutely divine.
Until one day, I restocked my face wash and noticed it didn’t smell the same. I am absolutely convinced they changed the recipe and added some type of foaming agent that made it smell like straight up soap!
Dramatic as it sounds, I was devastated! That was the thing I looked forward to in my shower every day.
After many months of pouting about my face wash, I took a trip to Ulta and found one that’s even better:
Anyway, I just enjoy this so much and look forward to using it every day. Since finally reaching the end of my second bottle, I figured it deserved a spot on the list this month.
If you ever find yourself in Ulta, just stop by the skincare section to smell it!
Alright my friends, that’s all for now, I’ll catch you in the next one!
